A whistleblower named Daniel Berulis has come forward with troubling claims about a possible security breach in U.S. government systems. Berulis says that certain computer systems, known as DOGE, were linked to Starlink, a satellite internet service, and that this connection may have allowed people using Russian IP addresses to gain access to highly sensitive government databases.

Starlink, created by tech billionaire Elon Musk, provides internet access from satellites in space. It’s used in remote locations and even by parts of the U.S. military. But Berulis alleges that this powerful network became a weak point in American cybersecurity. He claims that newly created usernames—linked to Russian internet locations—were used to enter systems that should have been locked down.

Berulis made these statements during an interview on national television. He appeared on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, alongside his lawyer Andrew Bakaj, who supported the claims with additional warnings about national security.

Alarming Claims of Exposed Government Systems

One of the systems allegedly accessed was the Mission Launch Readiness Board (MLRB) database. This system holds important information about launch schedules and operations, which are vital to U.S. space missions. According to Berulis, DOGE engineers accessed these files without the proper clearance, raising serious questions about how these systems were being managed.

Even more concerning, Andrew Bakaj warned that DOGE engineers may have unintentionally (or intentionally) exposed parts of the U.S. Department of Energy systems. These include systems connected to the country’s nuclear stockpile management—one of the most critical parts of U.S. national security.

Bakaj described DOGE’s connection to Starlink as a possible “direct pipeline” to foreign actors. He claimed that this concern led the Department of Defense to stop using Starlink for some operations. The fear was that foreign countries—especially Russia—could be watching or even stealing secret data through these systems.

Berulis also shared a digital chart during the interview. This chart showed what experts call “indicators of compromise”—warning signs that someone had broken into a system. These included strange new accounts and access attempts from places linked to Russia. He says this is solid proof that unauthorized activity took place.

Threats and Intimidation Follow Whistleblower’s Warning

After speaking out, Daniel Berulis says he was followed and threatened. He told MSNBC that he received a note along with a drone photo of himself walking his dog. The picture was clearly meant to scare him. It raised fears that someone was trying to silence him through intimidation.

This isn’t unusual for whistleblowers—people who reveal information that others want to keep secret. According to Andrew Bakaj, who has represented other high-profile whistleblowers in the past, the photo was a threat and a warning. He said it shows that Berulis may be in danger just for telling the truth.

As of now, the U.S. government has not released an official response to these claims. It’s unclear if an investigation is underway, but the accusations have already sparked concern among national security experts, lawmakers, and watchdog groups.

The full interview with Daniel Berulis and Andrew Bakaj remains available on MSNBC’s official channels. The details are disturbing, especially since they involve potential exposure of the United States’ most protected systems, all possibly through a satellite internet network that spans the globe.

For now, the story continues to develop, but the facts shared by Berulis have put a spotlight on how even advanced technology can become a serious risk if not carefully protected.
