A major leak of personal information from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has alarmed both government officials and the public. A whistleblower inside DHS reportedly shared the names and personal details of about 4,500 federal agents and employees with a website known for publishing law enforcement identities.

This information includes agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Border Patrol, as well as others who support immigration enforcement. The leak is considered one of the largest ever involving DHS personnel, raising concerns about privacy and safety.

What Was Shared and How

The whistleblower is said to have given the data to ICE List, a website run by Dominick Skinner, an Irish national living in the Netherlands. ICE List is known for posting the first and last names of agents and staff involved in immigration enforcement.

According to reports:

  • The leak includes personal details of about 4,500 agents and employees.
  • Roughly 2,000 were frontline agents working directly in immigration enforcement.
  • Another 2,500 were support staff who assist the agency in other roles.

Not all the information collected is published on the website. Some positions, such as those working in childcare or medical roles, may be excluded.

Skinner said the leak followed the fatal shooting of Renee Good, which became a breaking point for many DHS employees. He explained that the whistleblower provided the information in response to frustration and unhappiness within the government workforce.

ICE List has been online since June of last year, launched during heightened immigration enforcement under the Trump administration. Before this leak, the website already had information on thousands of immigration enforcement personnel, including about 8,000 frontline agents. The recent leak significantly expanded its database.

About ICE List

ICE List is managed by Dominick Skinner and a small team of three people, and it uses artificial intelligence to verify the identities of the agents and staff listed on the site. According to Skinner, the website receives millions of views, showing the high level of public interest in the information it provides.

The website is hosted outside the United States, which makes it difficult for authorities to shut it down or remove content. ICE List administrators also make decisions about what information to publish on a case-by-case basis. They generally avoid publishing personal details of staff in sensitive roles, such as childcare workers or nurses, to reduce potential harm.

Government Reaction and Safety Warnings

Government officials have strongly warned against the public sharing of law enforcement personnel data. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin have both cautioned that publishing this type of information can put agents and their families at serious risk.

Reports indicate that threats against ICE and Border Patrol agents have surged dramatically in recent months, with death threats increasing by 8,000% and assaults rising by 1,347%. The leak of personal data only adds to the dangers faced by agents in the field.

Lawmakers have also introduced legislation aimed at protecting law enforcement officers from doxxing. The proposed Protecting Law Enforcement from Doxxing Act is designed to make it illegal to publish personal information about officers without consent, responding to the growing threats online.

The leaked data reportedly includes:

  • First and last names
  • Work information for ICE and Border Patrol staff
  • Job roles for some support staff

This information has now been shared on ICE List and is visible on parts of the internet. The leak has quickly become a topic of national discussion, with many people raising concerns about the safety and privacy of federal employees involved in immigration enforcement.

As of now, neither DHS nor ICE has publicly confirmed the full details of the leak or responded officially to media requests.
