In relation to the ongoing PMLA investigation into the high-profile sextortion racket operated in and around the city of Bhubaneswar, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has recovered and confiscated a high-end FORD ENDEAVOUR (2L TITANUM+ automatic car) of woman blackmailer Archana Nag. The car was discovered to be unregistered and abandoned. The confiscated car is estimated to be worth about Rs. 40 lakhs (approximately).
Archana Nag is accused of using honey traps to blackmail wealthy individuals. She and her friends are accused of surreptitiously filming their obscene films, which they then used to threaten and blackmail the subjects. She also used to intimidate people who were the targets of fake police accusations. Additionally, she threatened to post their offensive recordings on social media.
Between 2018 and 2022, she and her husband reportedly collected over Rs 30 crore by extorting and intimidating a few wealthy individuals and politicians.
At the Nayapalli Police Station in Bhubaneswar, an FIR was filed on September 9 against Archana Nag and Shradhanjali Behera under many IPC provisions and Section 67 of the IT Act.
On October 6, the Odisha Police detained Archana Nag, and on October 10, Jagabandhu Chand.
On October 11, 2022, the ED searched seven locations (including a home property and an office) in this case. They found various damning papers and digital evidence, including mobile phones and an SUV. Khageshwar, one of the suspects, was detained and is still in the care of the ED. Further research is now being conducted.
