In connection with a land grabbing case that the Ld. Special Court in Mumbai took notice of on June 9, 2022, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) filed a complaint for prosecution against Satish and Pradip Mahadevrao Uke on May 26, 2022.

On the basis of FIRs filed by Ajni Police Station, Nagpur against Satish Uke and Pradip Uke, alleging, therein, an offence of land snatching of Original Land Owners located in Nagpur by fabricating fictitious and forged papers, an investigation under the PMLA, 2002 was started. The PMLA investigation found that Satish Uke and Pradip Uke had used forgery and fraud to create a fictitious Power of Attorney in the name of Mr Chandrashekhar Namdevrao Matte, as well as to forge the signatures of government officials and usurp the lands from the original landowners with shady and deceptive motives.

Then, after amassing a large sum of money through illicit methods, they sold some of the lands. By doing this, they dealt with the proceeds of crime associated with scheduled offences and violated Section 3 of the PMLA 2002. 38 Crore rupees have been estimated as the case’s criminal proceeds.

On 31.3.2022, a search of Satish and Pradip Uke’s Nagpur residence resulted in the recovery of damning documents and digital evidence. They were both brought under arrest on the same day for violating Section 3 of the PMLA Act, 2002 after their respective statements had been recorded. They later appeared in court before the PMLA Court in Mumbai and were subsequently remanded into judicial prison. Additional research is being done.
