THE Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a criminal offence against three persons, including the director and the CFO of the Pune unit of US-based Worldwide Oilfield Machine India LLP, and an automobile dealer from Pune, in connection with the seizure of around Rs 8 crore from bank lockers held by the company.

The Income Tax department had, on December 14 2016, seized around Rs 7.98 crore in new currency notes from 15 lockers of the Worldwide Oilfield Machine India LLP in the Bank of Maharashtra’s Parvati branch. After demonetization introduced the cash seizured. Hence,  the I-T department had roped in the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate to probe various aspects of the seized cash.

The investigation took place in detail. Satyen Gathani named in FIR. Therefore,  he  helped the other two for the old currency.

Additionally, the notes converted by the Bank officials. The FIR mentions the involvement of unidentified bank officials in the criminal conspiracy. Under Indian Penal Code for criminal conspiracy the persons booked.
