On the July 13 2020, the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) imposed a fine on Wind Tre S.P.A for General Data Protection Rules of $16.7 Million for violating the illegal data activities taking place in the company. It was in connection to direct marketing. Garante told that it had imposed trespass in the past under the EU General Data Protection Rules. This is the 2nd largest fine applied by Garante.

One of the largest business partner of Wind Tre S.P.A fined for EUR 200,000 by the Italian Data Protection Authority for using the data of its agents that they had collected and sent in the national territory without contemplation for the data protection rules. He had subcontracted without any legal instrument. They processed whole set of activities to the call center that occurred in the data breach.
