ED files Prosecution Complaint against Chandeshwar Prasad Yadav and wife in Disproportionate Asset Case

On 20.03.2023, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) filed a Prosecution Complaint in a Disproportionate Asset Case before the Hon’ble Special Court (PMLA), Patna against Chandeshwar Prasad Yadav and his wife Urmila Devi under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).

On the basis of an FIR and charge sheet submitted by the CBI, ACB, Patna under different sections of the PC Act 1988, the investigation was started by the Directorate of Enforcement, Patna Zonal office, Patna in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2017, Chandeshwar Prasad Yadav held the position of Senior Section Engineer, at Condemn Wagon, Eastern Railway Workshop, Jamalpur (Munger). During this time, he amassed significant assets, both movable and immovable, either in his name or the names of his family members, which are out of proportion to his known sources of income and which he is unable to satisfactorily account for. After an inquiry, the ED temporarily attached 43 mobile properties and 5 immovable properties totalling 3.53 crore rupees. 

The Ld. Special PMLA Court in Patna has taken cognizance of the prosecution complaint as of 23.03.2023.
