Understanding the significance of governance beyond corporate arena and furthermore, the spread out of national governance, the Institute has developed various Codes to be followed voluntarily but which shall go a long way in promoting best practices of governance across the length and breadth of the nation. These are:

MODEL CODE FOR MEETINGS OF GRAM PANCHAYATS

The Institute published Model Code for Meetings of Gram Panchayats to prescribe a set of principles for convening and conducting Meetings of Gram Panchayats and matters related thereto. The principles enunciated in this Code for Meetings of the Gram Panchayats are equally applicable to meetings of Standing Committees, unless otherwise stated herein or otherwise stipulated by any other applicable laws, Guidelines, Rules or Regulations.

CODE FOR CHARITY GOVERNANCE

ICSI formed a Core Group to look into the grey areas in functioning of charitable entities and proposed a Code for Charity Governance. The Code envisages 9 Principles which touch upon different activities of these entities and aims to provide the governance mechanism. This Code will fill a long overdue gap in their governance to ensure that they remain true to their purpose and achieve the ultimate goal of empowering national governance.

CORPORATE ANTI BRIBERY CODE

Comprehending the significance transparency and accountability in suitably placing an inclusive culture of good government in New India, 2022, the government mandates the practices of curbing corruption and eliminating of black money at the utmost precedence. Accordingly, the Institute released a Corporate Anti Bribery Code with the chief objective to ensure that neither the company not any of its employees, directors or authorised representatives indulge in bribery in any of their actions taken for and on behalf of the company in the course of economic, financial or commercial activities of any kind.

CODE OF BUSINESS ETHICS

India, akin to its global counterparts, comprises business entities established and set-up under different laws with varied organizational structures. Understanding the fact that the size and structure of business entities have no say as far as the expectation of an ethical conduct is concerned, the Institute has come forth with a Code of Business Ethics encompassing all stakeholders and arenas of business activity. The Code that follows shall be a breakthrough for the Indian corporate arena in the times to come.

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE CODE FROM ANCIENT SCRIPTURES

While forever holding its vision and mission of promoting good governance culture in sight and deriving its own motto सत्यं वद।घर्मं चर। from the Taittiriya Upanishad, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India has made an attempt to peep into the history of this unique and mesmerizing nation and bring out some of the shining pearls of wisdom which shall find their relevance not just in the corporate scenarios of today and tomorrow but shall shine bright for years and ages to follow in the form of Corporate Governance Code from Ancient Scriptures.
