On April 18, 2023, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) searched eight locations related to M/s Agrani Homes Pvt. Ltd., including the homes of Alok Kumar (CMD), Smt. Vijaya Raj Laxmi, Mrs Alka Singh, Rana Ranveer Singh, as well as the homes of key employees Satvik Singh and Chartered Accountant Nishat Shrivastava in Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, and New Delhi.
Based on the eight FIRs that were filed against Alok Kumar and his family members in various Patna (Bihar) police stations, the ED began an investigation into M/s Agrani Homes Pvt. Ltd., Alok Kumar (MD of M/s Agrani Homes Pvt. Ltd.), and others. Additionally, this Directorate has received more than 73 complaints alleging that M/s Agrani Homes Pvt Ltd, Patna, and its CMD Alok Kumar Singh & others defrauded potential property purchasers out of a total of Rs. 9.73 Crore.
According to the results of the inquiry, the Agrani group of businesses and its director defrauded would-be house purchasers and unlawfully used their deposits and investments to buy homes in their own names or the names of other organisations.
Sale deeds of properties bought by Alok Kumar in his name and in the name of his firm were discovered during the search and confiscated. In the names of M/s Agrani Homes Pvt. Ltd. and its directors, 119 bank accounts, 4 insurance policies, and 2 luxury automobiles have been frozen or confiscated. Additional incriminating tangible and digital items discovered during the search have also been confiscated for additional investigation. The probe is being expanded upon.
