ED Filed Complaint against 8 accused including Partha Chatterjee, Arpita Mukherjee and related entities in the Teachers Recruitment Scam. Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has filed a Prosecution Complaint against 8 accused namely (i) Partha Chatterjee (ii) Arpita Mukherjee (iii) M/s Echhay Entertainment Pvt Ltd (iv) M/s Ananta Texfab Pvt Ltd (v) M/s Symbiosis Merchants Pvt Ltd (vi) M/s Sentry Engineering Pvt Ltd (vii) M/s Viewmore Highrise Pvt Ltd and (viii) M/s APA Utility Services in the Teachers Recruitment Scam in West Bengal before the Hon’ble Special Court (PMLA), Calcutta.

The Hon’ble Special Court has taken the cognizance of the Prosecution Complaint on 19.09.2022 after finding that a prime-facie case has been made out against the 8 accused persons.

ED had earlier arrested Partha Chatterjee, the then Minister, Government of West Bengal and his close associate Arpita Mukherjee on 23.07.2022. The accused are presently in the Judicial Custody and will be produced again before the Hon’ble Special Court on 28.09.2022

ED has already seized cash amounting to a total of Rs. 49.80 Crore and gold & jewellery valued at more than Rs. 5.08 Crore and provisionally attached properties worth Rs. 48.22 Crore and thus the total seizure/attachment in the case stands at Rs. 103.10 Crore.
