In connection with the Judge Bribery case, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) conducted search operations at Ajay Parmar’s residence on June 15, 2023. Ajay is a relative of former ED/CBI judge Sudhir Parmar.
On the basis of the FIR filed by ACB in Panchkula, Haryana, ED opened an inquiry. According to the FIR, credible information was received alleging that Sudhir Parmer, who was serving as Special Judge for CBI and ED cases in Panchkula at the time, was prioritizing the defendants, Roop Kumar Bansal, his brother Basant Bansal, the owners of M3M, and Lalit Goyal, the owner of the IREO Group, in exchange for undue advantage granted by Sudhir Parmar in the criminal cases brought by ED under the PMLA and other cases of CBI pending against the above-accused persons in his court.
It is alleged that this relative Ajay Parmar gave Sudhir Parmar an unauthorised advantage. Furthermore, it was indicated that instances of gross misconduct, misuse of authority, and demand for or acceptance of unjustified advantage or bribe from the accused in cases now before his court had been seen, according to trustworthy evidence.
During the search, incriminating materials were found and taken. Ajay Parmar was subsequently detained on June 16, 2023, for alleged money laundering charges under the PMLA. He was brought before the Panchkula PMLA Court as required. The Honourable Court has given ED custody until June 20, 2023. In connection with this investigation, ED has also detained Basant Bansal and Pankaj Bansal, who are the promoters and directors of the M3M Group. Custody of ED has been granted by the PMLA Court in Panchkula until 20 June 2023. Additional research is being done.
