The Enforcement Directorate (ED) took significant legal action by filing a Prosecution Complaint on August 21, 2023, against a group of individuals, including Bhola Singh, Lalita Devi, Bhagavan Deen Yadav, Jaishankar Prasad, Urmila Devi, Rameshkumar, and Gulab Kali. The Hon’ble Special Court PMLA in Lucknow acknowledged the ED’s Prosecution Complaint on November 30, 2023, concerning the case involving the District Cooperative Bank Kishanpur.

The ED’s investigation was initiated based on an FIR filed by PS Kotwali, Fatehpur, UP, against the Branch Manager and other employees of District Cooperative Bank Kishanpur. The FIR alleged various sections of the IPC, 1860, asserting that the accused caused a wrongful loss of Rs. 598.33 lakh to the Bank from 2005-06 to 2009-10 by embezzling funds and transferring them to fictitious accounts.

During the ED’s investigation, it was uncovered that the accused had illicitly withdrawn and embezzled public funds by sanctioning loans to non-existent entities and transferring the money to different fictitious accounts. The accused, in control of these accounts, withdrew cash and acquired properties.

Earlier, properties worth Rs. 34.52 lakh were provisionally attached on November 15, 2021, and this attachment was confirmed by the Adjudicating Authority in New Delhi on August 22, 2022. This legal pursuit by the ED unveils a complex web of financial wrongdoing and misappropriation of public funds, shedding light on the intricate details of the District Cooperative Bank Kishanpur case.
