ED Takes Action Against Financial Misconducts by Amit Kumar

In a search operation conducted by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) at Amit Kumar’s residence in Baccha Rai, Vishun Rai Mahavidyalaya, and Vishun Rajdev Teachers Training College in Bhagwanpur, Vaishali, the ED initiated an investigation based on the FIR and Charge Sheet filed by Kotwali P.S., Patna. The charges against Amit Kumar @ Bachcha Rai and others, under various provisions of the PC Act 1988 and the IPC 1860, prompted the ED’s involvement.

Subsequently, a Prosecution Complaint was filed in accordance with the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), leading to the issuance of a Provisional Attachment Order on March 31, 2018. This order authorized the attachment of immovable and moveable properties valued at Rs. 4.53 crore.

A court case was initiated before the Special Court, PMLA, Patna, on December 10, 2018, seeking the seizure of assets valued at Rs. 4.53 crore. However, charges have not been filed yet due to the absence of the defendants.

In November 2023, the ED received information that Amit Kumar @ Bachcha Rai was involved in illegal construction on land already attached in Bhagwanpur, Vaishali. Subsequently, searches were conducted, resulting in the confiscation of Rs. 2.87 crore in cash, the recovery and seizure of documents related to the purchase of over 100 land parcels, and the discovery of several other incriminating documents.
