The offices of Dinesh Kumar Singh, also known as Dinesh Singh Gujjar, the state secretary of the Samajwadi party in Uttar Pradesh, were searched by the Directorate of Enforcement. In the course of the investigation into the Bike Bot Scam, damning material against him was discovered and taken from the inspected facilities.
In response to allegations from investors regarding the Bike Bot scam perpetrated by Garvit Innovative Promoters Ltd. (GIPL), Sanjay Bhati, and other individuals, the ED opened a probe based on UP Police FIRs. According to an ED investigation, the accused Sanjay Bhati and others launched a successful investment plan in 2017 under the name BIKEBOT. According to the plan, a client may invest in 1, 3, 5, or 7 bikes, which the firm would maintain and manage. Investors would get monthly rental payments, EMI payments, and bonuses (if they invested in more than one cycle) in exchange for their investments.
Further examination by the ED showed that the money was cycled in a manner resembling a PONZI scheme before being used to create assets in the name of the business and other people.
According to an ED investigation, Dinesh Singh Gujjar used his network to identify recipients of the Bike Bot Scam’s proceeds of crime and, disregarding his relationships with ED officials, put pressure or offered incentives on his victims to extract money that was either directly or indirectly related to the proceeds of crime. After conducting a search, the ED detained Dinesh Singh Gujjar on July 21, 2023, and the Honourable Special Court granted the ED custody of him for five days, or until July 26, 2023. Further research is now being conducted.
